This Privacy Policy describes how the operator of VidEraser (“we”, “us”, or “the App”) collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects personal information when you use the Google Play Android version of VidEraser, an AI-assisted tool for removing watermarks and overlays from videos and photos.
Please read this Policy carefully. By using the App, you acknowledge that you have read this Policy. Where the law requires consent for a specific processing activity, we will ask for it separately (for example, notifications or analytics).
1. Who we are & how to contact us
Controller / operator contact for privacy requests: szsoftwell2026@gmail.com, or use in-app Feedback. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
2. Information we collect
- Device information: device model, OS and App version, language/locale; a persistent pseudonymous device identifier (UUID) stored in app-private storage for security, abuse prevention, and API request signing. This is not your advertising ID.
- Account information (if you sign in): our internal user ID and identifiers provided by Google Sign-In when you authorize (such as Google account ID, display name, and email, depending on the scopes you approve).
- User content: videos, photos, and processing parameters you choose to upload so we can perform erasure. Upload only content you own or are authorized to edit.
- Purchase information: Google Play order IDs, purchase tokens, product IDs, and related entitlement status so we can verify purchases and grant benefits. Payment card and wallet details are processed by Google Play; we do not collect your full payment card numbers.
- Push token (optional): a Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token if you allow notifications, used for service messages such as task completion.
- Usage and diagnostics: task status, quota usage, crash/error logs needed to operate and troubleshoot the service.
- Feedback: text and optional contact details you submit.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use your data for cross-app tracking for advertising, and this Google Play build does not show third-party ads. We do not collect precise GPS location.
3. Why we process data (purposes & legal bases)
Depending on your region, we rely on one or more of: performance of a contract (providing the service you request), consent (where required), legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, service improvement that does not override your rights), and legal obligations.
- Provide, maintain, and improve erasure, history, quota, and membership features;
- Authenticate users, protect accounts, and process account deletion;
- Verify Google Play purchases/subscriptions and fulfill entitlements;
- Send service notifications when you allow them;
- Comply with law, resolve disputes, and prevent fraud or abuse;
- Aggregated or de-identified analytics; Firebase Analytics only after you consent in the App (where enabled).
4. Retention & how we handle your media
- Source media (the file you upload for processing) is used only to complete your erasure request and is deleted promptly after processing completes.
- Processing results (outputs) are kept for about 7 days so you can view, export, or re-process them in Records, then deleted or anonymized—except where law requires longer retention (for example, purchase or accounting records).
- We do not use your uploaded source media or processing results to train our AI models, to build advertising profiles, to sell datasets, or for unrelated “content analysis” beyond delivering and supporting the erasure service you requested.
- After you delete your account, we delete or anonymize account-related personal data, subject to legal retention duties.
Note: Separately from your media files, if you consent in the App we may collect limited app-usage analytics (for example via Firebase Analytics: screens, crashes, feature usage). Those events do not include the binary content of your videos/photos.
5. Sharing & processors
We share personal information only as needed with:
- Service providers (cloud hosting, AI processing engines, push delivery) under contracts that limit use to our instructions;
- Google for Sign-In, Google Play Billing, and Firebase / FCM where used;
- Authorities when required by applicable law.
6. International transfers (important)
Our service infrastructure is primarily located in mainland China. If you use the App from outside mainland China, your personal information (including uploaded media and account data) will be transferred to and processed in mainland China for the purposes in this Policy.
What happens to media after transfer:
- Source files are processed to fulfill your request, then deleted as described in Section 4;
- Results are kept only for the short period needed for you to download/re-edit, then removed;
- Transferred media is not retained for model training, advertising, or unrelated analytics.
Where required (for example under the GDPR), we take appropriate measures such as contractual safeguards. You may contact us for more information about transfers that apply to you.
7. Android permissions
- Photos / videos / media (and legacy storage permissions on older Android versions): select media to process; save exports when you choose;
- Camera (if you use in-app capture features): take photos/videos for processing;
- Notifications (Android 13+): optional task alerts;
- Network / Internet: required for upload, sync, Google Sign-In, and Play Billing.
You can revoke permissions in system settings; some features may stop working.
8. Your rights
Subject to your local law (including GDPR/UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, LGPD, PIPL, APPI, and others), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, export/port, restrict, or object to certain processing; withdraw consent; and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. California residents: we do not sell personal information and do not “share” it for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under the CPRA. To exercise rights, email szsoftwell2026@gmail.com.
Account deletion: you can delete your account in the App (typically under Me / Profile → Delete account). This is separate from uninstalling the App.
9. Children
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the higher age of digital consent in your country, such as 14 or 16). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided data without proper consent, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
10. Security & updates
We use HTTPS and reasonable administrative and technical safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We may update this Policy; for material changes we will provide notice in the App and, where required by law, obtain fresh consent.
